Richard K. Aland
Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer / Director
Richard Aland, as an investment
banker for more than 25 years, has specialized in solving the financial
needs of state and local government entities. He has been a leader in the
municipal finance industry in creating innovative financing techniques,
sophisticated transit financing mechanisms, complex leasing structures,
and public/private partnerships. Mr. Aland was called, by Privatization Magazine, “…one of the four
leading transportation finance specialists in the U.S.”
Mr. Aland also was founder and managing director of Innovative Financial Services Inc.
where he was responsible for new business developed through innovative and
proprietary financing concepts and creative applications of traditional
approaches. He has developed public/private partnerships and private
sector approaches for the financing of convention hotels, toll roads,
stadiums, convention centers and other projects in cities such as Dallas,
Denver, Kansas City, Houston and Tampa. Prior to Innovative Financial Services, he served as vice president
and manager of the southwestern U.S. public finance department for Salomon
Brothers Inc. and as vice president of public finance at Goldman, Sachs
and Co. He also was vice president of the investment banking firms of Kuhn,
Loeb and Co. and at UBS-DB Corp., a Union Bank of Switzerland-Deutsche Bank joint venture where his
focus was on international corporate finance. In these capacities, he was responsible for financings for, or
served as advisor to state and local governmental entities, transit
agencies, airports, sports teams and sports facility developers as well as
to four major auto manufacturers, railcar manufacturers, high-speed rail
companies and OEM suppliers to the transportation industry.
Aland earned an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Michigan and completed the
coursework for a doctorate in finance and international business at
Columbia University. He also holds a B.B.A. in finance and accounting from
the University of Michigan.
Michael R. Lanham
President and Chief Operating Officer / Director
Michael Lanham is a seasoned management professional with more than 30 years experience
in public sector and private organizations. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, he
served as Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Dallas, Assistant to the Mayor
and Budget Analyst. He has twenty-five years experience in start-up, fast growth, technology
based, service companies serving consumer and general business markets, involved in start-ups,
turn-arounds, software development, telecom and service companies; capital raising and exit strategy planning.
Mr. Lanham has initiated or worked in 6 startups and successfully completed one IPO.
His experience includes management roles with Demand Pooling Global Services, LLC; Mag-Wind, LLC; AutoRealty,
LLC; IEX Corporation; Bluestreak Media; WorldQuest Networks; MultiTechnology Services; Network Multifamily
Security Corp.; and The City of Dallas.
Prior to Demand Pooling, he has served as President, COO and Board Member of a public web-based long distance
company, culminating in a successful $35,700,000 IPO (February 2000). He has served as a Founder, CEO and Board
Member of a competitive local exchange company (CLEC), and was responsible for raising $80,000,000 in private equity
and debt. The company grew to 180 employees & 35,000 customers in 4 states offering cable TV, long distance, local dial
tone and other services on one bill to customers in the early 1990s.
Mr. Lanham has a Master of Public Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Southern
Methodist University, Dallas, Texas.
