Demand Pooling Global Services Launches Fuel Pool Demand Aggregator:

On Dec. 1, Demand Pooling Global Services LLC introduced a North American pool for the state and local government purchase of motor fuels. Through this pool, transportation agencies, as well as states and other local government entities, can combine their demands for fuel to achieve important savings through volume-discount pricing. Former municipal bond banker Richard Aland said he established DEPO to help state and local government entities achieve savings on their purchases of large ticket items such as fuel, transit buses, rail cars, police cars, utility trucks, and other products. Interested purchasers and vendors can register online at www.depo.org. Once the secure registration process is complete, purchasers can list or create their IFBs, store and recall frequently used underlying documents, grant access rights to others, join currently open pools, arrange cost-effective financing or leasing, and specify delivery requirements, and vendors can bid on the pooled demand. As with traditional bids, purchasers and vendors can submit and respond to questions, capture the submitted bids, and award the contracts.
